Background/History: Posted here due to length.

Personality:

Imagine an ordinary man who lives a comfortable, happy life. He has a woman in his life who loves him just as much as he loves her. He has a well-paying job he's good at. Overall, he has a life that he's proud to have.

Now, take that all away at once from the ordinary man, and what do you get?

Yomiel never intended on being the villain of the story. In fact, he never saw himself as the villain at all. One minute, he was an ordinary computer engineer whose life was simple and free of problems. He was even going to marry his fiance in the near future, just to make his life happier. But when he was forced into a corner by a man who thought he was responsible for something he was completely innocent of, he snapped. He stole a gun, and took a little girl hostage, and then was stopped by the most bizarre twist of fate in the world - a piece of a meteor that struck his heart and killed him in the blink of an eye.

In Yomiel's eyes, none of that was his fault. He is the victim. He was the one whose life was turned into a mockery of life, whose fiance died because she thought that he was dead for good. Why shouldn't he be angry about the horrible hand that fate decided to deal him?

On the outside, Yomiel seems deceptively normal. He gives off the appearance that he is a rather okay person- he isn't overly nice, but he isn't too mean, either. He seems to just be passing through life without any worry, bearing a nonchalant air that he uses to throw people off. The way he described it himself, he said he felt like he walked through a world where nobody cared about him. Not that this bothers him- he seems to take it in stride, all while observing how people act in the meantime.

On the inside, though, is a completely different story. Even though only ten years have passed since the beginning of his ghostly existence, Yomiel has turned to methods and plans that would make people shudder. Fueled by the desire for revenge, Yomiel doesn't care if anybody gets hurt or killed, as long as he comes out on top. He even stands calmly when a hitman kills a friendly dog - why should he care about it? Only his revenge matters now. He is insulting, and often mocks people he hates openly, laughing when they try to threaten or hurt him. He manipulates people extraordinarily well even without his powers, and the fact that he can literally get into somebody else's head just makes it even worse. He is the king of his own self-centered little world, and shows no remorse at his actions. Yomiel refers to this as his "darkness", a place which he has been sinking in for the last several years.

But far in the depths of himself, a place which he refuses to acknowledge, is the true picture of Yomiel's life - inside, he's just a broken, lonely man who lives an empty existence he hates like nothing else. He doesn't want to manipulate people. He doesn't want to be immortal. He's extremely desperate for anything resembling a normal life, so much so that he sells his skills to a country which promises to construct him an artificial life as exchange for his services as a manipulator. Despite his big self-righteous speeches, Yomiel can be very naive, for his desperate bargain with the country only resulted in him being backstabbed later in the road. Overall, he's just tired and depressed of his situation, and this is the reason why he did all he did - he wants others to feel the same pain he went through all those years. He doesn't want to be the only one who understands his own situation.

In the end, Yomiel will never be a part of the world he pines for so much.

Abilities/Powers:

In Yomiel's world, there is something called Temsik. Temsik is actually a meteorite that comes from god knows where in the universe, and is a strange rock that has the most peculiar of effects on people, especially the recently deceased.

Not all of the secrets of Temsik have been found, but it is known that it has two effects: on time, and on power. Anyone who dies in the vicinity of a Temsik meteorite gains powers of the dead when they wake up as a ghost. These powers are focused on manipulation, whether of inanimate objects (a dog named Missile could swap objects that were the same shape, like a wheel and a donut) or of animals/people (like what Yomiel can do). Bear in mind that the majority of ghosts with Temsik powers aren't poltergeists - the main character, Sissel, couldn't make a bike fly through the air or make a dresser burst in flames. Also, Sissel and other ghosts couldn't manipulate every single object in existence - only certain objects could be manipulated because they had something called cores that ghosts could latch onto and possess.
.
However, this is where Yomiel differs. Yomiel died in the presence of a Temsik meteorite, yes, but he died with a Temsik meteorite fragment inside of him, which has probably made him the most powerful ghost in the Ghost Trick universe. First of all, Yomiel is the only ghost who has shown the ability to manipulate living things, such as animals and people. He can literally jump into a person's body from his own to make them do things such as write a death sentence, say things the person never meant to say, and even kill others with their own hands. However, this isn't a perfect power - first of all, Yomiel has problems with possessing people with particularly strong willpowers, such as the character Lynne. He jumped into her body, trying to make her raise a gun to shoot at him. However, he met with great resistance, and although he eventually forced her to shoot, it took him much longer to do so than a person who didn't have a strong willpower. Another flaw of this is that he cannot manipulate his own body the same time he's possessing someone else, and has to leave his empty shell of an undying body behind somewhere as he does his manipulative work.

For, you see, the second major power that the Temsik meteorite gave Yomiel is the ability of time. Not of manipulating time, but since the rock entered his body, it has been circling his body between the time of death and life - he is a literal Schrodinger's cat, his body neither completely dead or alive. Therefore, any wound you try to give him, whether it's a shot to the head or stabbing in the chest, will close up immediately because the meteorite in his chest just returns the "time" of his body to when it died. He's even survived explosions before without a single scratch. However, he can no longer feel any pain while using it, even though he possesses it constantly - it's just an empty puppet of a body that he manipulates to act like a real one. He can't eat, can't sleep, and overall, can't really do anything that a living human being could do. Even if somebody cut his hair, it would grow back to the way it was. He doesn't even bleed. However, if one found a way to remove that piece of Temsik from his body, his body would just return to the moment of death and stay that way, becoming a regular corpse without any healing factor whatsoever. Yomiel would still survive as a spirit in that case, but his body would be lost for manipulating purposes.

Last but definitely not least, Yomiel has the greatest power over inanimate objects in the Ghost Trick universe. Like Sissel, the main character, he can use the cores of objects to move them and use them for his own wishes. He can also manipulate several objects at the same time, as when he created a body for himself out of various objects when he lost his usual one. He also has the power to move through phone lines if they're active - he has to leave his body behind for that, but this enables him to move quickly from place to place without much hassle.

Overall, Yomiel is a ghost in a shell, a spirit that can control almost everything if he so desires. And fueled by the depression of his empty existence and the anger of the people who made it happen, he'll do anything to get revenge for what happened to him.

ALSO OF NOTE: Yomiel is a really excellent software engineer (he said he was the best there was, in his opinion), so it's very fair to say that he knows his way around computers and creating code and hacking, if he has to. However, as for fighting ability, he has none, though he does know how to shoot a gun if it's given to him. Other than that, the majority of his abilities are Temsik-related.

Items/Weapons:
An empty black briefcase with a bullet hole in the side.
His sunglasses.
His cool red suit.

Sample Entry:

What's the fuss about?

[The man on the other end of the camera is dressed rather nicely, what with his classy red suit and dark sunglasses - his blonde hairdo, on the other hand, is ridiculous, but he doesn't seem to care. He gives a casual shrug, as if he's going to start asking about the weather.]

Some people are talking about monsters and stuff...I don't really get it. I haven't seen any around. Just the plants, which, really need to get a trimming or something. Can't any of you get a gardener down here or something?

[He adjusts his sunglasses with a shake of his head.]

Eh, but whatever. [A pause.] Hey, can anyone tell me about that barrier thing outside of town? Yeah, the big invisible wall. Have any of you, I don't know, tried to break it down? I mean, everything has its weaknesses, so...I don't know, I think it's worth a shot. I kind of have an important thing to get back to at home, and I can't really go and have a nice vacation while it isn't finished, as much as how beautiful this place is.

[It's quite obvious he's being sarcastic.]

Anyways, just though I'd ask. Never thought I'd wake up in a different place...but, well, there's always a first time for anything, right?

[He smirks, before switching off the camera. Oh, there always is a first time...always.]

Sample Entry Two:

Dead man walking. That's what he was. People in Haven were up in tears again, talking about how some people had died in a raid or something or another...

Yomiel didn't care. Why should he? They didn't mean anything to him, and he was dead himself. He walked the streets casually, like a man not afraid of any danger. Monsters? He would heal from their claws, their teeth. Other people? Just lets see them try to shoot a gun into his head, and let's see who has the last laugh. A few people had derided him today for being so distant from the matter, but all Yomiel did was shrug. That's all he could do. His powers could never be used to save people, how many times had he tried that before? No, he had stuck to this path of darkness, because honestly, it was the only thing left. Well, he could roam the streets to see where he would end up, but he'd rather go insane than let himself live such an empty life.

There are no living things in Haven besides the people there. He almost wants to see a stray cat at some point, digging through the trash for a morsel...just like Sissel would. Oh, Sissel...he frowns, when he thinks about the events of that night. That other ghost he saw, could it have been...? Nah. Possibly not. It was just another feverish hope in his mind, that's all. He has other things to focus on now, like getting out of here.

...Maybe that Yao Corporation had something to offer, though. He had his services, and that corporation had a lot of influence on the place and its people. Perhaps he could strike up another bargain. It would be beneficial for both parties, really...or maybe he could just find a way out the barrier, use his powers to create a crack in it so he can slip out. He's thin enough for it, really.

He smirks to himself in the darkness. Ah, options, options...now, what's a dead man to do?
